January 27th is National Literacy Day!!
We are having a school-wide "book swap" so please send in any used books.
Suggested family literacy activities:
This is a great opportunity to engage in some fun family literacy time!
*Shared reading (English or French)--Parents read a page, children read a page. Discuss picture details and favorite parts.
*Grocery shopping--read labels and signs!
*Cook together--read recipes and follow directions!
*Play a board game--read instructions and playing cards!
*Make up a "Tic-Tac-Toe" game card with funny words--maybe rhyming or theme related!
*Write a card or letter to someone special or send an email!
*Visit the book store (used book stores are great!!) and find a fun new book to read!
